🧭 Our Commitment

At Motor Controls Direct, we stand behind every product we sell.
Whether it’s a Schneider Electric LC1D contactor, a WEG overload relay, or a Benshaw soft starter, we want our customers to have complete confidence that they are receiving authentic, high-quality components supported by transparent return and warranty options.

We combine real inventory from our Pennsylvania warehouse with authorized manufacturer dropshipping, and our policies are designed to protect customers in both cases.


📦 1. Return Eligibility

We accept returns for most new, unused, and unopened items within 30 calendar days of delivery.

To qualify for a return:

  • The item must be unused, uninstalled, and in its original packaging.

  • Include all documentation, accessories, and factory seals.

  • Proof of purchase (invoice or order confirmation) is required.

We cannot accept returns on:

  • Products that have been installed or energized.

  • Custom-configured, made-to-order, or special-voltage items.

  • Electrical components that have been opened or show installation marks.

  • Software-activated products or digital downloads (if applicable).


🏭 2. Return Process

  1. Request Authorization:
    Email returns@motorcontrolsdirect.com with your order number, item(s), and reason for return.

  2. Receive RMA Number:
    Our team will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) with shipping instructions.

  3. Ship Safely:
    Use the original or equivalent packaging. Include the RMA number on the shipping label.

  4. Inspection & Refund:
    Once received, returned items are inspected within 3–5 business days.
    Approved returns will be refunded to your original payment method, less applicable restocking fees.

Restocking Fee:
A 15–25% restocking fee may apply depending on manufacturer policy and product type.
Dropshipped items may be subject to the manufacturer’s return terms.


💰 3. Refunds and Credits

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method only.

  • Credit processing may take 5–7 business days after inspection approval.

  • Shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

If a return is due to incorrect shipment or a defective product, Motor Controls Direct will cover return shipping costs.


🧠 4. Exchanges

We offer exchanges for the same item or a compatible replacement (for example, upgrading from LC1D09 to LC1D12) when available.
Contact our support team to confirm compatibility and availability before returning your product.


⚙️ 5. Warranty Coverage

All products sold by Motor Controls Direct LLC are covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty.
Typical warranty coverage includes:

  • Schneider Electric / Square D: 18 months from date of manufacture or 12 months from installation

  • WEG Electric: 12 months from date of invoice

  • Eaton / Cutler-Hammer: 12–18 months (depending on product class)

  • Allen-Bradley: Warranty as specified by Rockwell Automation

  • Benshaw: Warranty as specified per OEM datasheet

Manufacturer warranties cover defects in materials or workmanship only.
They do not cover misuse, improper installation, or damage due to environmental conditions.


🔧 6. Warranty Claims Process

  1. Submit Claim:
    Contact support@motorcontrolsdirect.com with:

    • Order number or invoice

    • Product model (e.g., LC1D09T7)

    • Description of defect and application details

    • Clear photos of the issue and product labeling

  2. Evaluation:
    Our technical team may request additional details or testing information to verify the issue.
    If confirmed, we’ll coordinate warranty processing directly with the manufacturer.

  3. Replacement or Credit:
    Depending on manufacturer policy, you may receive:

    • A direct replacement unit

    • A repair authorization

    • A store credit or refund

We aim to resolve warranty claims within 10–15 business days.


⚠️ 7. Exceptions

Warranty coverage does not apply to:

  • Incorrect installation or wiring errors

  • Use beyond rated voltage, current, or environmental limits

  • Physical damage, water ingress, or corrosion

  • Acts of nature, lightning, or power surges

  • Consumable items such as fuses or contact tips

Always ensure installation complies with UL 60947, IEC 60947, and NEC/CSA standards.


🕒 8. Defective or Damaged on Arrival (DOA)

If your item arrives damaged or defective:

  • Report the issue to support@motorcontrolsdirect.com within 7 business days of delivery.

  • Provide photos of the packaging and product.

  • We’ll arrange replacement or carrier claim processing at no cost to you.

This Returns & Warranty Policy is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Lehigh County, PA, unless otherwise required by law.
